How’s Winter as an Hourglass?
Winter is such a beautiful season and we all have outfits that we wait eagerly to wear again during this season, but at times it can be difficult to find outfits that will keep you warm and still look good on you. If you have an hourglass figure you might find it difficult to balance both your upper body and lower body, and still accentuate the waist. Well I'll deliver a few outfit ideas you can try out or get inspiration from to help you in this chilly season🥶.
Before we begin, an hourglass figure is where your bust and hip measurement are nearly equal and the waist is narrower making the body appear like an hourglass. While dressing this figure, we tend to follow the natural silhouette, while accentuating the waist. You need to be keen not to make the top or bottom heavy but balancing both. For tops make sure to choose tops that are not to wide or to narrow, and if you want to show off your bust choose tops with lower and wider necklines like sweetheart necklines. If not, avoid wide necklines! Also choose tops that are fitted to accentuate your waist. For trousers, go for wide legged, loose fitting(but if skinny jeans look good on you and your comfortable with showing off your curve, which you should, wear them!) and mid waisted. If you want to elongate your legs, opt for mid to high rise jeans. While choosing your coats and jackets go for the ones that are form fitting and tailored like trench coats, long coachmen coats, A-line coats, fitted leather jacket and fitted blazer.
These rules are not supposed to suffocate you but to help you, understand what works and how it work so that you can manipulate them to suit your needs.
